What is wind power?

Most electric power in the world today are produced by electric generators. An electric generators (or sometimes called a dynamo) is a device that produce electricity when magnets that move through a metal wire coil.

In 1831 Michael Faraday discovered the electric motor. Also read the article; what is electricity on this website.

Wind turbines is in simple terms a generator/dynamo that is turned by a blade. The blade is turned by the wind.

Wind power has seeing rapid development all over the world in the last few years. Growth is expected to continue. More cost-effective wind turbines are made today as technology improves.

Because of this technology we can build larger and taller wind turbines that ever before. .

A recent trend is bigger turbines that reach their maximum power output at a slower wind speed.

It is important to keep in mind that wind power is not constant.

This means that if there is no wind there is not any power.

We need to use other energy sources in harmony with wind.
